I have lived in Colwick all my life and have strong connections with St John the Baptist School. I attended this school as a child, my own children attended and now I work here! I been a Specialist Teaching Assistant here since September 2001. At first only working 6 hours a week in Foundation Stage. Now I work full-time. My role throughout the school has developed over the years and is always changing. I have taught in all year groups, whether that be in groups, working one to one, supporting the whole class or SEND children.
PTFA

I have been the PE Leader since 2013. Currently, I am teaching PE to all classes in Key Stage 2. I coordinate Sports Day and other sports events in school and provide sports after school clubs. The school is also part of the Gedling School Games, where I take children to participate in competitions and festivals and I manage the School Football Team. I also run the School Choir and write, produce, and direct the Year 5/6 end of year summer show, which I have a passion for.
I thoroughly love working at St Johns. The school has always been very close to my heart, and I would like to see it continue to grow and develop further in the future!

Hi, my name is Lyndsey Lee and I am currently the Vice Chair for our school PTFA 21/22. This is my second time as Vice Chair and have been a member of our school PTFA since 2016. I really am fortunate to be able to help out and give something back to enable our school, to help raise vital funds for the school. It’s great to be part of the team and welcome anyone wanting to help out as little or as much. In my personal role I am a support worker for Mencap, and have been for 12 years. Everyday is a different day but always a rewarding one.

Hi, my name is Mrs Yvonne Stevenson I am a member of the PTFA as a staff member.
I have been working at St John’s as a Teaching assistant for over 20years!!!
During that time I have had the pleasure if working across the school but have settled in Foundation and KS1.
I have done lots of fundraising over the years for my local church, Macmillan, Cancer Research, comic relief to name a few, and hope to bring my ideas to help the PTFA.

Hi, I’m Tamzin, Treasurer for the PTFA
My son is currently in Year 2 and my daughter started Foundation in September 2022. It’s been a strange start to school life but hopefully things are now returning more to normal – can’t wait for more in-person school activities.
I’m looking forward to helping the school raise lots of money to fund trips and fun experiences for all pupils!

Hi, my name is Richard Greenwood, I joined the PTFA in 2019 just before the pandemic started. We was just starting to get into the swing of things, when lockdown came. During this time, we found different ways to raise money. As a parent I wanted to give something back and got involved with various fundraising activities. I work in postal services, so the job enables me to get involved with after school fundraising activities.

Hi, my name is Abigail Greenwood, I joined the PTFA in January 2021. I joined because I wanted to give something back. It is a great pleasure to work with the PTFA helping to raise much needed funds for the school. I work in employability and have worked with a local charity to help raise money.

I retired in 2015 after 38 years working in the NHS when my first granddaughter was born. She now attends St Johns and will hopefully be joined by her sister in September. I have since taken an interest in the school and volunteered to help at the summer fete. Having seen the community come together to support the event and the school, I felt I wanted to continue doing something positive to help. I hope that I can use my skills and love of craft to help organise future events and to raise funds for the school.

My name is Lyndsay, I’ve lived in Colwick for the past 6 years and have come to love The village and the school. I decided to join the PTFA to raise as much money as possible for the school, and hope to give my ideas to grow as a group. I’m excited for the year ahead and what we can achieve together as a strong community.

Hi I’m Jess and I’m passionate about supporting the school, teachers and PTFA to help create the best educational experiences for all the pupils.
I work with charities and community groups across Nottingham and value the importance of local support.
