In English, we wrote our instructions on how to grow a plant. We made sure we used time words and ensured our steps were in chronological order. In English we also looked at prefixes and suffixes. We went on a hunt to spot those words, and also came up with some of our own. In Maths, we were looking at position and direction. We covered above, below, left, right, half turn, full turn, quarter turn, forwards and backwards. We enjoyed playing what's the time mr wolf and changing it to what's the move mr wolf? And with this we were able to apply our new knowledge and vocabulary. In science, we set up our rain gauges to measure how much rain we get over the half-term (if any). We looked at what harms and impacts the environment positively in people skills. In computing we had our last session exploring spreadsheets on purple mash. In history, we looked at the Stone Age and how it differs to our life now. We looked at how they ate, how they kept warm and how they cooked food etc.
Our caterpillars have turned into butterflies so we let them out to explore the world. We were so excited to see how one turned into a butterfly between morning register and phonics! 🦋
We have had a busy week. I hope you all have a lovely half term and I look forward to seeing you all when you are back at school 😁.
