This week we have had another 4-day week. We have enjoyed planning and writing our fantasy stories. We made up our own characters, our own setting and our own plots. We have been creative using adjectives, expanded noun phrases and lots more. Some stories included mermaids, wizards or fairies. In maths, we have been looking at halves. Halves of shapes, objects and quantity. We took a trip to the "market" where we bought our foods. We asked our friends for half or whole of something, and they gave us the right amount. We were given a receipt which told us whether it was half or whole, and we had to go back if we didn't get a receipt. In history, we have continued to learn about the ice age. This week in particular, we looked at what it would be like to live in the ice age exploring how humans survived. We went to the woodland to read the Mr Men book: Adventures in the Ice Age whilst enjoying our snacks. In RE, we explored how Jesus calms the storm. We asked questions and retold the story. In Art, we looked at appliqué and created our own using beautiful materials. In people skills, we have explored what it means to belong and designed our own badges including aspects of where we belong.
We have got caterpillars growing in our classroom. We can't wait to watch them turn into beautiful butterflies! 🐛🦋
