This is Class 1's kindness tree. In people skills we have been talking about kindness and how we can show it. Each week, we will be nominating people for points on the kindness tree. At the end of the term someone will be crowned 'King or Queen of Kindness'. We know how important it is to be kind to others and therefore, will continue to spread kindness wherever we go.
'If you can be anything, be kind!".
This is class 1 carefully copying the Yoga poses on the interactive whiteboard. They did some great balancing!
In Maths, we have been practicing adding numbers together. We have practiced in a variety of ways including using manipulatives (objects we can move about), number lines, part whole models and much more! We have also enjoyed playing the robot game. The robot game can also be accessed at home via TopMarks (see useful websites page).
We looked at number sentences such as 6 + 4 = 10 and how 10 = 6 + 4 is the same.
In English, we explored a variety of poems and discussed what we liked and did not like about each one. We chose one we liked and wrote a poem in the style of it. We called it 'The Animal Poem'. We worked as a class to come up with a poem including words that rhyme. We spoke about how not all poems rhyme, but we wanted ours to.
The children have been creating their own stories and performed them in the puppet show. I have enjoyed listening to their stories!
We made yummy owl toast! We chopped up many different fruits as a team and decorated our toast following the instructions carefully.
